UK Textile IT Vendor Appoints Value Added Re-seller (VAR) for India

Manchester UK: 22nd November 2004

Manchester based IT company XeBusiness (XeB) has appointed an Indian re-seller partner Tex-App Enterprise Application Services (Tex-App) to re-market and support its apparel industry specialist business management and management information system, Xe-ERP, for apparel and textile manufacturers and exporters operating locally..

Apparel manufacture and export is strategic to the Indian economy and although local labour costs are competitive for the region, the abolition of quotas at the end of 2004 will heighten the competitive climate both within India and globally. The need by local apparel manufacturers to generate competitive advantage by adding value to their operations and streamlining and speeding-up fulfilment and shipping processes to ensure quality and delivery targets are met requires that modern and effective information systems are brought to bear.

Commenting on the appointment of the Indian VAR, David Cullis, Chief Executive of XeB said: Commenting on the appointment of the Indian VAR, David Cullis, Chief Executive of XeB said:

"I visited New Delhi in October to negotiate an agreement with the Tex-App principal partners. I was impressed by their knowledge of the textile sector in general and their local industry knowledge and contacts in particular. The skills mix their new venture will provide, combining IT and industry domain knowledge and experience, convinced me that their company would be an appropriate local VAR to market and support our product."

Prashant Saxena, Partner of Tex-App said in response:

We researched a number of foreign IT companies before deciding that XeBusiness was the right partner with the right product for us. The flexibility and speed of response of the XeB team in dealing with issues like local market pricing was also decisive in our decision to market their product. We will initially be focusing on XeB's world class production management and MRP systems given the manufacturing bias inherent in the local garment and textile industry.
